I didnt know I had it in me...

Hey guyz, how's things?

So, for many years now I have always looked at girls heading to the gym on a daily basis and being all 'fit', and I have always said to myself "I could never have such will-power to go to the gym consistently". BUT GUESS WHAT.... for 2 weeks now, I have been going 4 mornings a week.
I cannot believe myself. I always thought of myself as "Not a morning person". But looks like I am ;-)

Been getting up at 5:00am, this plan originally started coz my gym was soooo busy after work. I work-out for 45 minutes, then head to work. I must admit it Feels Fabulous!!!! :)

I must admit, I get a little tired in the afternoons, but this could also be because of my bad eating habits. Which are not going to be bad for too much longer :)

Saw a dietician today, she gave me a cute little eating plan. I will post it on here soon so you all can check it out :)

What’s your workout plan? Do you go before or after work? What kinda foods to you eat before a workout? J

Gym and Machine hoggers!

Hey guys... what’s been happening?

So I took a little break from blogging over the weekend (and Monday coz it was Valentines Day). :)
I mean, if I cant find the time to exercise, its going to be hard to find the time to blog. One of the reasons I started this blog was to replicate a journal/diary. This way I can keep track of my failure progress :) hehe

Let get to the title of my blog! Machine Hoggers! I joined a gym a few months ago. It was a brand new gym when I joined and there was never another soul in sight. I loved it! I went for a few weeks after I joined but then fell sick (for other reasons). So put my membership on hold for a month.
I went back for the first time on Friday. And OH MY GOSH... the gym was packed! I literally had to wait 30mins JUST to get on a machine (was praying for a treadmill, but ended up with a bike).
What is this? I stayed on the bike for 30minutes waiting for someone to get off a treadmill or at least a cross trainer. You think someone had the courtesy to SHARE a machine? NOPE! No one got off. They were all hogging the machines like it was the end of the world.

I got out of that gym as quick as possible before I screamed!
I drove to another branch (the gym I am a member of says that I can use any of there locations). Spoke to the manager of the other branch and he advised that his gym is also full at this hour of the day (after work = peak time).

But when else can I go to the gym? I wake up at 6am to get to work at 8am. Finish work at 4pm, get home at 5pm. Have some dinner and the hit the gym at 6pm. By the time I get home from the gym and shower, its time for bed.

Does anyone workout in the mornings???
The Manager at the gym advised that the gym is totally empty in the mornings. BUT.... this would mean I have to wake up at like... 4:30am to get a workout in before work.

I guess this is a sacrifice I’m going to have to make (I am not a morning person). But if I want to workout without the gym being FULL... then it looks like I’m getting up at 4:30am from now onwards :-/ eek.

I will let you know my decision once I have made one. Wish me luck :)

Final Day of my Detox

Hey guyz... hows life? So, its the last day of my detox and I must say I feel kinda the same. Which is a bit of a dissapointment.

Wieght = 77 kilos. yes, thats right, I actually gained weight through this whole detox schmetox program :P
Bloated belly = Still there and bigger :(

On the positive. I am happy about my new food choices (cutting out cows milk and swapping it for soy milk). Cutting out white cards and replacing them with wholegrains :)

Also, I cut out coffee :) for 7 days! That sounds crazy coz usually I cant stop consuming anything that I love for more than a day. But thats not permenant, I mean, how harmful can a cup of coffee be? :)

Well the detox is over, this means I'm on my own to make up a food plan.  I will get that down-packed soon.

Detox Day 6 and the next step?

Hey friends, how's life?
So, I will admit that I am feeling a little better. However, the bloating has not gone!
The food I am eating on this detox is staying in my life fo-sho. I am loving the brown rice and brown pasta, I feel less sluggish after eating it and my belly feels much better after eating it.
Tomorrow is my last day on the detox and I am kinda scared :-/ I will be happy to finish it, but scared that I will go back to eating crap foods :(

I feel the next step should be do create a meal plan. A weekly meal plan so that I can do all the shopping for the week. It will be easier to stick to that way. Ok so thats the next thing on my to-do list.

Whats after that? The gym :-| eeek!

Weight-in tomorrow morning... lets see if I lost weight on this detox (even though it was not my intention to loose weight, it was just to kick-start my healthy life-style).

Detox Day 5

Hey hey guys... how are you?
A weight gain? Yeah... its only 100grams.. and I am kinda a hypocrite, as I was saying that we shouldn't weigh ourselves daily.
So I wont bother too much about the gain.

By now i thought i would have been feeling better, lighter and less bloated. But Im not! :(
I still feel pretty much the same. Im still feeling pretty hungry after meals and craving sweets like they are going out of fashion.
I wish there was something herbal or some pill that can stop these craving and make me feel full.
I know there are such pills... but do they work? Maybe I will give them a try after the detox.

Todays eats were similar to most day...
the usual breakfast (I don't get bored of food easily). salad for lunch. and fish with sweet potato fries for dinner (homemade fries, and fish can be included in this detox on ever other day).

Feeling so bloated. Or maybe Im just fat? lol.. either way... I hope it will go soon otherwise people are gonna start asking me when the due date it :P

Detox updates...

Hey guys... so I been a bit slack posting about my detox diet. I guess that if I cant find time to be healthy, then I sure as hell cant find time to blog. But hey, this is part of my mission, to find time to fit these healthy lifestyle choices in.

Ok so a small update on the detox


Day 2
Breakfast was the usual, Muesli with soy milk and some raw honey. Snack was an apple. Lunch was rice and lentils. Afternoon snack was three plums. Dying for coffee in the morning!!! Dinner I made some chick pea sausages with brown rice. I am always craving for something sweet after all my meals and its so hard to contain these cravings. I will have to figure out what I can eat to stop these sweet tooth cravings hmmm.


Day 3 
Weekend! This is scary. I mean, during the week I work so I pack my meals for the day. I dont really have any temptations at work that will make me break my detox (besides coffee yummmm). So I went pretty well. Dad the usual breakfast, snack was a smoothie with mango and soy milk. Had a small plate of rice and lentils. However, weekends means boyfriend time. My boyfriend isnt the healthies eater either. His daily diet contains, Mc Donalds for breakfast, Subway for lunch and probably hungry Jacks for dinner. You would think he would be the size of a truck, but nope, he was blessed with a fast metabolism. No fair :(
So.... he got pizza for dinner... and i couldn't bare to see his crusts go in the bin... so I ate them :o bad i know! Totally broke the detox with the white pizza base. Anyway, back on track for tomorrow.
Didn't weight myself today.



Day 4
Ok, so have been weighing myself daily (except yesterday as its the weekend and I am totally out of routine as to the daily morning scales trip)... and ummm the scales must be broken lol. I dont see any weight change. Weight = 76.4 kgs. 400grams lost. I think that just because i am on a detox and eating healthy foods, I seem to be eating more and intaking the same amount of calories that I did before the detox.
So how often should we weigh ourself?
The doctor recommends once a week, as weight can go up and down daily due to water intake etc. If we weight ourselves daily and see a slight weight gain one day, it can defer us from our diets and cause a binge :(
So, I have decided I am going to try and just weigh in weekly. Its  actually pretty hard to do this as when we diet, we look for encouragement from the scales.
Lets see how i go anyway!

Day One Detox

Hey Guys... so its my first day on the detox and I woke up super duper excited!!!

This detox requires you to take a million few pills to take at every meal, so lets hope its all worth it. Woke up with a glass of warm water with half a lemon squeezed into it, that may require some time to get use to the taste.

Breakfast was some raw muesli with soy milk. (This detox is mainly all raw food, no dairy, no meat and no eggs).

Feeling very full after breakfast as I usually skip this meal. Naughty naughty I know!!

Snack was a small apple.

Lunch was a salad. With heaps of stuff on it and Soy cheese. Super excited when I saw soy cheese at the shops, coz whats a salad without cheese. Right?

Dinner.... Brown rice and curried lentils :)

So... the one thing I missed.... COFFEE.... yeah there is no coffee on this diet either and I HATE tea :-/

Oh well.... will see how we go tomorrow... Im feeling a little hungry now.. and some small sugar craving... but overall.... I will survive :P

What better way?

Hi guys, hows life? 
Well I was thinking, what would be the best way to start this healthy lifestyle? A detox maybe? Ok :) considering I have never done a detox in my life, I opted on asking the local health store for advice on the best detox kit. 
The suggested a 7 day detox kit from company 'Totally Natural Products'. Their detox slogan "The Intestinal Broom" hehehe I like the sound of that :P

So, Im gonna give this a go, it detoxifies the Stomach, Liver and Bowel. Fingers crossed I feel better afterwards!?!?! :-/

Day 1 starts tomorrow. 

Oh some stats before the detox starts;
Weight before starting the detox = 76.8 kgs
Overall I am feeling fatigued and bloated :(

My First Post

Hey, How are you? Thanks for dropping by. I feel a short introduction about myself is necessary here.
Firstly, the name of the blog is far from what I am, Skinny? I don't think so. Is it a possibility? Oh for sure. Malteser, not only are these a delicious chocolate ball, but also where I originated from.. Malta.

I am a 24 year old female, working full-time and studying part-time, on a journey to start a healthy lifestyle.  Working, studying, relationships, friendships, fashion... with all of this happening on a daily basis there seems to be no time to fit in the two most important aspects in life health (healthy diet) and Fitness. I say these are the two most important aspects because without fitness, your health is poor, and without health, your life is poor.

So this is a blog about my journey to add health and fitness into my lifestyle (these two points have never been in my life agenda, so this will be a challenge Journey)...
